Arc of the Coast Eastern Cape Breton Cooperative Alliance was launched in 2018 as a ‘Cooperative’. It operates as a regional planning, and economic development organization.
At the heart of our efforts is an understanding that the heavy lifting required to create sustainable communities on our shared coast demands dedication to cooperation, and collective action on all levels.
This means that residents, newcomers, elected and appointed officials at all levels of government, educational institutions, and the private sector commit to working together beyond traditional divisions such as townships, counties or political or other affiliations.
Our supporters include the World Wildlife Fund, ESRI, Nova Scotia Community College, Cape Breton Regional Municipality, The Eastern Nova Scotia Marine Stewardship Society, Bay it forward, Glace Bay, Louisbourg and other community groups active on our coast.
